New Executive Board Elected for Publishers Association, Headed by Abu Fares

The General Assembly of the Jordan Publishers Association on Saturday elected a new administrative board for the next three-year term during a meeting attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture.

The new board was elected by acclamation and comprises Jabr Abu Fares, Jaafar Al-Aqili, Walid Nayef Sabah, Mohammad Abu Shaikha, Mohammad Sobhi Ismail, Bilal Al-Banna and Wael Abdul Rabbo.

At its first meeting following the election, the board selected Abu Fares as president of the Jordan Publishers Association, Walid Nayef Sabah as vice president, Wael Abdul Rabbo as secretary-general and Mohammad Abu Shaikha as treasurer.

The board also decided to appoint Jaafar Haif as the association’s representative to the Arab Publishers Association.

The General Assembly meeting was convened after the required quorum was met. Members reviewed and approved the association’s administrative and financial reports for 2025, appointed a legal auditor for the upcoming fiscal year and approved the closure of records for publishing houses that had ceased operations.

The session concluded with the resignation of the previous administrative board and the appointment of a three-member committee from the General Assembly to oversee the election process.
